You are probably better off just sticking with the 1200 calorie diet, this is basically just super low calorie and no processed foods. you will find you will loose just as much and better if you stick to similar style of non-processed foods within the calorie limit (but add a little protein)

Hi there, I have been on a weight loss journey for a year now and have managed to lose 43kg, yay, however over the festive season, actually the last couple of months have managed to regain 10kg. I am wanting to give this soup diet a go to kick start my weight loss again. I also use the calorie counting technique. I am a bit apprehensive about losing weight initially on the soup diet then regaining. If i do this soup diet and then go back to 1200 calories a day will i put much back on afterwards???

I haven't been on your site for a while , but i printed a lot of good and encouring points and put them on my wall.. now! it's been 3 months since i started the soup diet & working out and i'm happy to say that I've lost 20kg (seriously). You're right , no one is ever going to motivate & keep motivating you except your own self. Now i started working out 1x hour after work everyday , now it's 2 - 3 hours - I try and do different things everyday so i don't get bored. I'm not a gym person as i find it very boring. So i got my cousin to do it with me.. and it's working. I really do believe " where there's a will, there's a way ".. I've dropped from size 22 to size 18 and i feel great about myself. I cheat sometimes but i always make up for it he!he!
I have so much energy now and it's a great feeling waking up in the morning and you see that your hard work is paying off. It's only been 3 months and i've lost that much - So people , it is possible if you put your mind into it. It's never easy but you gotta keep pushing yourself. I was 140kg 3 months ago but i'm now 120kg , still got a long way to go but i'm happy with the results. Will keep you posted Liz .. thanks again - you've inspired me and i'm grateful to you.

Thanks and have a great weekend

Hi Liz,

I just want to say what an inspiration you are. I've slowly been putting on weight over the past couple of years without really noticing. It was on Monday that I was looking at photos with a friend from last year, shes half the size she was and I am double. So today marks a whole new adventure for me.. I'm very much a quitter when the going gets tough but I'm pretty determined this time.. Wish me luck!

Sorry for slow reply, was on holiday. First i would suggest the flatmates go to a dietitian if they think mince and sausages a good diet. Also if they are trying to gain weight, carbs is the last thing they want to be eating tons of, ideally they want low fat, protein, and non processed foods :)
Perhaps you could buy your own foods and point these facts out to them? The only difference a body builder and a dieter should have in common regarding diet is that they eat twice as many meals :)

I live with two males who are trying to gain muscle and weight, so when they cook the meals are very carb based and HUGE. Also as we are living on a budget it seems that the easiest meat to buy is mince and sausages. I do make sure its the good quality stuff but its still not helping me.
How can I get around this??
Do I simply buy my own food, which will benefit me more??

Wow, intense, reminds me of the crazy arse diets I did as a teen lol! Going to give it a go though, as I have to lose a bunch to get below 100KG for something, then move to a sensible eating plan after that, but I need the kick start, I hope I can stick to it!

Thanks for the great site Liz, your weight loss is a huge inspiration darl!
