wow you are really short! lol

A friend of mine said go for the sleeve i think, shes had it and lost a fair bit, but she did a ton of research and said its better than all the others.
Another friend had the balloon in the stomach or a band (i forget what) and not only did it not work much, but she got pregg and had to get it removed. Waste of a lot of money :/

Start walking 30 mins a day, blood pressure will go down pretty quickly with that - usually within a week. Once you feel better (i feel like crap with high blood pressure) start doing more maybe?
Good luck though! even i have a little regain!

New suit?

Never had one to begin with. Trying to hold off on the clothing until a couple of weeks before the wedding... just in case they are too big for me... hehe.

I bought some wedding pants because I have no ass even when I am "larger". I can't see me losing much off of that, hence why I have the pants now (they were on special).

Might need a new work uniform though, my regular customers have begun to ask the old "have you lost weight" line.

Good motivation though.

Six months in...

Week 26???

Had a rough month lately, all the wedding planning is totally stressing us out. We have had to change the wedding plans... yes it is still going ahead... to cut a long story short, we have brought the date forward to October 2...

YIKES!

Less than three months to go!!!

The main thing is, there is NO STRESS over it now, which is awesome.

Bride got her motivation back for a week and successfully lost three pounds (YAY!)... This was followed by an unfortunate series of events... tonsillitus, a bacterial infection in her hand, and to top it all off, slipped down the back steps in the rain and really hurt her back and hip. preventing her from moving without great pain and therefore no exercising at all.

I have been slacking off quite a bit lately as well, mainly in the alcohol department, causing a weight gain and motivation problem, but this has now been addressed the past two weeks and I am back on track. The Bride has recovered from her various ailments and is also back on track this week.

Groom.
Starting weight: 280.5 lbs.
Current weight: 234.7 lbs.
Total loss: 45.8 lbs, 16.3%.

Chest: Was 48"... now 45", loss of 3".
Waist: Was 52"... now 45", loss of 7".
Hips: Was 43.5"... now 40", loss of 3.5".

Bride.
Starting weight: 204lbs.
Current weight: 192 lbs.
Total loss: 12 lbs. 5.8%.

Chest: Was 48"... now 45", loss of 3".
Waist: Was 45"... now 44.5", loss of 0.5".
Hips: Was 46" ... now 43", loss of 3".

I've got my wedding pants sorted, just need to organize the top half... and the Bride has a wedding dress fitting next week apparently...

Hey Peggy.

I know it can be a bit tough working out when you have little ones to look after! Try getting into fun activities the whole family can enjoy then you get your work out + quality time in one as well as build a healthy active life style for you kids. Swimming, walks/games in the park is a good place to start Hope this helps

Hi Everyone and Hello Liz! I just found this website and it's absolutely wonderful. I have been searching for weeks now on how to get myself back into shape again. I am a mother of 2 girls, 15yrs and 5yrs. I am 37 and unfortunately over the past 4 months I have put on quite a few pounds due to neck surgery. Now I want to get it off since I am starting to feel better. The problem: I am not sure where even to start. I also have my boyfriend who is going along with the "dieting" thing because he also needs to lose a few pounds. I am hoping that this site will help us through.

Thanks,
Peggy

I finally got my crap together the other day, my health has been going downhill. Feeling like crap, skin breaking out in rashes, headaches, high blood pressure and antsyness etc.
I went to veg and fruit and meat only, then added in whole grains. Kicked the coffee, and added a ton of water. Feeling a ton better.
Also i'm walking to work when I can which has helped heaps also! Im now sleeping way better than I was, headaches have gone, skin is still being odd (though usually us without Vit Bs).

Hi, I need to lose about 25-30 kgs. In 2003 I lost 36 kgs and sadly have put it all back on. I have now developed high blood pressure and problems with my feet so now I have to get this weight off again. I am just after some motivation & support - I don't need to know all the foods I should & shouldn't have, I've done it before & know it all, just need to stick with it and realise it's a whole lifestyle change that has to be permanent this time. My body is resisting weight loss now, I'm now 45 and it's much harder. I have been on track now for 4 weeks. Each day is a milestone when you have food addictions but I'm ok at the moment.

To be brutally honest, not a lot. Ive been failing miserably atm :/ Life has been busy, ive been lazy and cooking/eating crap foods. I keep trying to throw in vegetable soups and healthy things to offset the crap - but suspect ive failed a little.
I think i need to get back into cycling more.

Hi everybody. Today I have decided to take an active approach to weight loss and healthy eating.I will be using this forum to record my journey. I have set my goal weight loss at 10kgs. I have made a conscious decision to exercise daily, choose healthy food options and enjoy the journey that I have once travelled before. My decision came today, when I noticed that my breasts were touching my stomach ... ewwwl.... I am now also noticing that it is hard for me to cross my legs and my body feels like it is swelling a little more each day. Now thats not how I want to remember my late 30's. So today ... Is the day.

Weight: 75kgs ... Height:5ft 2'....

Hi - I'm Angel, I weigh 99kg and I'm only 4ft 11. I've been trying for over ten years to shift the excess weight and nothing has been permanent. Exercise and watching my calories hasn't worked, weight watchers made me put on weight and don't get me started in Jenny Craig and the cost: the only thing that slimmed down was my bank account.
I desperately need breast reduction surgery - I've always been large breasted, started wearing a bra at age 9 - because of the damage that has been done to my upper back and shoulders. However I'm not eligible for the surgery because... my BMI is too high - 43.6
My GP was unsympathetic so I changed to a new one. She didn't even hear me out - simply referred me to the Middlemore bariatric surgery team. And I am now on the list for a laparoscopic gastric sleeve procedure at some point in the next six months.
My mother has had a successful lap band and my sister a successful sleeve.
Am I scared? Yes but I'm far more determined than I am scared.

Liz said it was ok to put a link to my website where I'm talking about this:
http://www.undergroundmainstream.com

Anyone else out there thinking about the procedure or going to have it?

I've been struggling with lollies, Vit deficiency, allergies, and skin problems (all related). Doesnt help the weight loss!.
On the plus side, now i know lollies with some sugars cause me to lack in vit B's which causes allergies and major skin problems! Horay! this will solve a lot in the long term.

Thats rough! I am embarking on losing weight again (and again and again). I lost 27kg a few years ago, then had 2 beautiful children and put all the weight plus some extra back on. So here we go again! I hit my heaviest at the beginning of this year and I refuse to ever go that heavy again. So far I have lost 10.5kg, thanks to eating better (but not as good as I should) and winning a gym membership.
I really struggle with the after dinner snacks too! Although my husband knows junk food is banned from the house

i spent about 8 months losing 37 kilos i went from 130 kilos to 93 and was aiming to be 80 kilos. i even got put into the newspaper for losing weight. i had been doing weight watchers and power plate vibration training.
But for some reason i fell off the wagon gaining from 1 to 3 kilos a week for an entire year until i had reached my original starting weight of 130 kgs !!!!!!!. STUPID STUPID. soooooooooooooooooooooooooo............ Im starting again but its totally different this time im terrified of the scale i have been trying to lose weight since january and people have told me that i look like ive lost about 10 kilos. i dont think thats true. so im going to stand on the scale on monday and then again in another two weeks. i have been walking power walking on my treadmill and doing winsor pilates 20 minutes 3 times a week and also doing 40 laps in the pool twice a week. i have been sticking to a pretty good diet during the day of oats with a banana and milk for breakfast and 1 egg on two pieces of dry wholemeal toast for lunch. and slow cooker meals and stirfrys for dinner. sounds perfect right????? but theres a little problem called my husband ha ha. he keeps making deserts or going out and buying what we call "binges" which tend to consist of 1 bags of lollies, 1 kingsized block of chocolate, 1 - 1.5 litre of fizz. and maybe some iceream and biscuits. We will then proceed to just munch on it between ourselves after a perfectly fulling dinner until bed where all those excess calories settle themselves god knows where!....... been good tonight so far could have something to do with the fact that my husbands on night shifts lol. ps. its nice to have somewhere to post my thoughts.

If you want some good "free" exercise...

Try squats and forward/sideways lunges.

Do a set of 10 each a few times a day or something. Very simple to do, regardless of your size, my bride-to-be knows ALL about lunges, hehe. It seems easy at first, but about 5 into it, and you'll be sweating all over. Burns a lot of calories too.

If your knees and feet can take it, try using a skipping rope on a daily basis. The first time you use the rope you'll probably only last 5-10 seconds, (that's what happened to me) but keep at it and a week later you'll be away laughing. Within a month you'll be able to go for 5 minutes and then think to yourself, "shouldn't I be tired by now?".

Food choices are the obvious key. Bacon and eggs are fine, depending on how you cook them. Grill the bacon (no butter or oil required) and boil the eggs (they retain more of their goodness that way).

No food is bad, just be mindful of how you prepare it and what other options you have.
You could have a couple of biscuits for a snack, or an apple... but which one WON'T you regret as soon as you've finished it, which will fill you up more, which will take longer to eat?

The way I stopped eating biscuits was to bake them... sounds odd doesn't it? Well, when you know what's in a cookie... a pound of butter and three cups of sugar... it really turns you off. Or simply don't buy them anymore.

Drink plenty of water.

Some people say that you shouldn't weigh yourself. This is true to a certain point. When you are as overweight as we are (I was 126kg in January), the easiest way to see progress is on the scale. You will be losing FAT, sure you'll gain muscle, but when you're 120kg+ the fat will drop off. Measuring is good, but it is very difficult to be consistent if you measure too frequently. Once a month should be sufficent to eliminate the uncertainties of the measuring tape (like where you put it around your body, how tight etc) it can be very innacurrate.

You're going very well though, keep at it!
