I&#39;ve been trying for over ten years to shift the excess weight and nothing has been permanent. Exercise and watching my calories hasn&#39;t worked, weight watchers made me put on weight and don&#39;t get me started in Jenny Craig and the cost: the only thing that slimmed down was my bank account.<br /> I desperately need breast reduction surgery - I&#39;ve always been large breasted, started wearing a bra at age 9 - because of the damage that has been done to my upper back and shoulders. However I&#39;m not eligible for the surgery because... my BMI is too high - 43.6<br /> My GP was unsympathetic so I changed to a new one. She didn&#39;t even hear me out - simply referred me to the Middlemore bariatric surgery team. And I am now on the list for a laparoscopic gastric sleeve procedure at some point in the next six months.<br /> My mother has had a successful lap band and my sister a successful sleeve.<br /> Am I scared? That is where they go in and staple up the side of your stomach leaving you with a 100-120ml tube.<br /> I had this surgery done for free through the counties manukau DHB.</p> <p>When i started in January that year I was about 210KG, or more. By the time of the surgery I was 179KG.
