Does anyone know if there is a link or a website that is available where you can basically use as a food diary. but in the amount of food you are eating and it automatically calculates out the amount of calories you have eaten as well as calculates the exercise you have done so you can see if you are doing more that what you are eating (god hope that makes sense LOL) saw it when watching the biggest loser australia. They were saying how quick and easy it was to keep a daily running total of everything...cheers

Hi... I've just found your web site today, and it is really good! Just following on from dream2b's comments, I registered to fitday.com, but to be honest found it quite hard to use, as it is an American site. For example, I made myself a sandwhich for lunch today with 2 slices of wholemeal bread, shaved ham, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, a little bit of mayo and a couple of slices of edam cheese. It looks as though I have to go through each individual thing on my sandwhich, and there are so many variations it can get quite confusing! Do you have any tips to use the site better, or is there is a NZ weight-loss journal that is more tailored to our brands? Cheers

Yeah i had the same problem. caloriecount.com is another to try, also sparkpeople.org (though i found that one more confusing, i only wanted the calorie counting not all the community and well meant advice).
Rachel Goodchild (friend of mine) said she uses fatsecret.com which is good, and Vanessa Liddell is using a spreadsheet.
I know my sister in law uses a tiny notebook and pencil she carries around and tallys up the calories with a book she bought at the end of the day or whenever shes home and free (she has toddlers and crap internet out on the farm)

Do what works, calorie counting is only really needed for a wee while until you learn what your 'usual' foods have in them and sort yourself out a decent diet. So its really only a couple months to give you the idea of what a normal portion size is and what's in what foods.
I stuck to being exact for the first 7 months paranoia, but went on holiday for a week ok which gave me some confidence after that
