Started counting calories yesterday, was going to do 1200 per day, but this does not leave room for having a glass of wine, so will do around 1400 so I can have a glass of wine.
    Target 63 kilos
Current weight 70 kilos, ( this is way down from the 120 kilos I weighed 5 years ago, but have been around this weight for at least a year)
Amazed to only weigh 70 kilos yesterday, considering Christmas and a decadent several days in Wellington involving copious amounts of Baileys and Sauvignon Blanc.
I do want to post some photos of when I was 120 kilos but I do not have any digital ones so will have to look my through box of old photos and scan, as I was so fat I normally hid from the camera, but I am hoping to find something,

Astonishing ! I have just trawled through thousands of old photos. There are just about none of me, mostly the children. Anyway I have found a couple and will now try posting them, also a couple of me now, quite a change, I had actually forgotten how big I was.

You'll need to upload a photo at http://imageshack.us/ or somewhere like that.

Then use the IMG button on the post and paste the address of the photo you upload.

Weight this week 69 kilos, weight lost since last week 1 kilo.
Pleased with the loss, have been doing about 1400 calories per day and it appears to be working, not getting too hungry and still having a glass of wine every day.
Diet is based on fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, lean protein and wine (the four main food groups) have cut out the fifth main food group (chocolate) as just too many calories, but will probably have a little on my 53rd birthday on 25th Feb.

I didn't report weight loss last week as after a week of careful calorie counting when I got on the scales I weighed the same as the previous week. I was so annoyed that I later went out and got a chunky kitkat (caramel) and ate it. Silly thing to do. I have to realize that these last few kilos are going to be the hardest and have to expect it to be slow and not get disheartened. Anyway then went for a mega tramp over last weekend up Mount Arthur and into the the Kahurangi ranges it was exhausting, I must have used thousands of calories. I was so knackered that I couldn't go to the gym on Monday as every muscle hurt even though I am quite fit. But have been back on the diet wagon all week and was rewarded this morning with 68 kilos on the scales. So I am doing OK but must just expect it to be slow, after all the weight that is left on my body has probably been around for 30 years and bum and thigh fat is the hardest to go, I have practically no boobs and a big bottom.
PS it was my birthday yesterday and I only had one glass of wine and no cake!

Weigh day today. 67kilos. Yippee that is 1 kilo loss since last week and 3 kilos since starting to count calories 4 weeks ago. I have been doing about 1200 to 1400 calories a day, except Tuesday when I accidentally went out for lunch with some friends and had 3 courses and two bottles of wine, but have tried to be extra careful since then. This is probably the lowest weight I have been for 25 years.

It's good when you think about it like that.
It takes your mindset to a different place (usually can be a happier place too).

I bet you feel a lot younger. Keep it up!

Didn't weigh last week as was on a last of the summer wine camping trip with some girl friends in the Able Tasman Park, it was brilliant, sunshine, swimming, tramping, eating and drinking. We tried to only eat healthy stuff, mostly fruit, veges and salmon, but a little bit of chocolate did creep in and quite a lot of medicinal alcoholic beverage.
Anyway weighed today and am now 66 kilos or just about, scales not too accurate as ancient. So that is a one kilo loss in the two weeks since last weigh day, yippee. It is great to be slowly getting there, I must be doing the right things, not starving myself just eating lots of fruit and veges and lean protein , even the occasional overindulgence is ok. I have taken to filling up on thin thai style soup, which is pretty low in calories especially if you make it yourself, so you can have lots of it.

I do the thin soup/tea/coffee thing also for filling up. Its a great resource and good way to get water in!

65.5 kilos today so a loss of 0.5 kilo, quite pleased with that, I have been very good with eating this week and have even cut down the wine a bit. But am going out for lunch today at a posh restaurant so may get tempted but will try make good choices.

Didn't report in last week as I was the same weight, due mainly to Easter, son coming home for long weekend and eating lots of family meals and Chocolate. But even though I had the weekend off calorie counting I have been very careful before and after Easter weekend and when I weighed this morning I was 65 kilos so that is .5 kilos loss in two weeks with Easter in the middle not too shabby.
So really only another 2 kilos to go, although I do have a large bum, flabby knees, saggy upper arms a tummy pouch that could fit a kangaroo and no breasts, I wish I could redistribute my fat into a more even arrangement. I think I will have to resign myself to never looking good in a bikini and instead wear Trinny and Suzanna knickers and what my mother used to call foundation garments!

I have weighed the last couple of weeks but have not really lost anything, but then I have been up and down with eating, mostly good but a few bad weekends when the children were visiting. But today it looks like I may be another 1/2 kilo down, so 64.5. I have never ever reached my goal weight in 25 years of dieting but now I have less than 2 kilos to go, so I think I will get there.
This is a very interesting lecture about how fructose is a poison and making humanity fat.

Ooooerrr 2kg! dont give up!!!! :D:D

As for the URL, its hard to listen to so many variations and differing opinions. I personally think our idea of portion size is way out of whack. Most people go to eat out a lot, and order portions which are just epic in size, and we eat out way more these days than we ever used too.

Anyway, keep up the good work! 2kg!
