Wedding Diary.

    Hi Liz and all.

    Myself and my now, fiancé, will be getting married early next year.

    We've been doing very IRREGULAR exercise for a while, but now that we are getting married, what better motivation to stick to it?

    I thought we could track our progress by joining a weight loss forum, and in case we started becoming slack, at least there would be someone to give us the hurry-up.

    We didn't want to join a big forum type thing, so after some searching we stumbled upon this one. A smaller group would be of more benefit to us than a large one.

    Groom.
    Weight: 280.5 lbs
    Chest: 48"
    Waist: 52"
    Hips: 43.5"

    Bride.
    Weight: 204 lbs
    Chest: 48"
    Waist: 45"
    Hips: 46"

    wooot!! a wedding couple!! thats so cute!
    Yeah it can get a bit quiet here sometimes, but i try and keep up with what people are doing. I know of another girl Pauline who is getting married http://mybridalextrememakeover.wordpress.com and trying to drop a few kg also. Shes started out well but had the usual Xmas/NY set backs along with being sick.

    I'm trying to get back into a decent lifestyle after xmas :/

    Week 1...

    A bit shocked really, I'm thinking the scales must be wrong...

    Groom.
    Weight: 265.6 lbs, loss of 14.9 lbs.

    Bride.
    Weight: 199.6 lbs, loss of 4.4 lbs.

    That's "Biggest Loser" type weight loss, it's hard to believe. We'll see next week if the scales are wrong hehe.

    We'll definately take it though.

    oh nice! first couple weeks is always a good loss. Lots of it water weight etc as well, but its always nice to see the scales moving down

    But 14 lbs??

    I've lost weight in the past and it was NEVER that much in a week. I also drink probably 3 litres of water a day even when I'm not exercising.

    the larger you are the more you can dump in a week. I dropped 20lb or more in the first week i started, then another 20 the week after, but i was 330ish or so.

    Well, we eat reasonably well regardless, it's just the "extras" that we eat that needed addressing (pies and alcohol).

    So we've cut out pies altogether, in fact, we only eat home made food so we know exactly what we are putting in. We still have a few drinkies once a fortnight instead of every Saturday, (sometimes we used to drink Sunday as well).

    Cut the skin off your chicken, fat off the meat, no gravy, no butter, no cheese, no mayonaises etc, just little changes that don't really matter when you think about them... but are full of fats that add up by the end of the meal.

    We try to exercise at least once per day.

    I have a home gym machine and a punching bag in the garage which I use once or twice daily, depending on what shifts I have at work that week.

    My bride to be is doing morning walks, pilates and yoga at home, providing our 7 month old isn't causing too much trouble.

    We have a Nintendo Wii, with the Wii Fit along with a more serious fitness training game which we do together on occasion.

    Whatever we are doing, the scales are moving in the right direction.

    Funny you mention pies, my daughter has just gone gluten and dairy free, and pastry is just one of those things i cant get anywhere it seems for her.

    We've been making Pot pies (where the pot is the crust) and leave them without pastry on top or use potato. Pastry is 3/4 of the calories in pies i reckon.

    Current weight: 250.2 lbs, loss of 4.3 lbs.
    Total loss: 30.3 lbs.

    Bride.
    Starting weight: 204lbs.
    Last week's weight: 192 lbs.
    Current weight: 195.3 lbs, gain of 3.3 lbs.
    Total loss: 8.7 lbs.

    The Bride hurt her leg last week, preventing her from exercising. Also, I think it's coming up to "that time of the month"...

    We'll see what happens next week.

    Lucky you asked that. I seem to have misplaced the photo on my computer somewhere! Best be finding it! I'm sure we will post a wedding picture nest January.
